Email & ads

Klaviyo flows, abandoned-cart email, ad copy testing and Merchant Center titles.

Using AI for ecommerce email starts with the segment, not the copy. Build segments in Klaviyo from real store data such as order count and days since the last order, then tell ChatGPT or Claude exactly who each email is for. Vague prompts produce emails that could go to anyone.

Check every discount, deadline and product detail before scheduling. In abandoned cart flows, getting the right recipient matters more than the subject line: people who already paid should not get a reminder. For paid ads, generate several angles, then cut the near-duplicates by hand.

Don't decide on per-contact price alone: a migration that damages consent state costs more than a cheaper plan saves. Read more →

How many ad copy variants should a small budget test?

Most small budgets can't get a clean read on more than three or four variants at once. Generate more than that for options, then cut the close rephrasings, which both ChatGPT and Claude still produce despite instructions. In side-by-side runs, ChatGPT gave punchier, more ad-ready lines by default, while Claude explained its reasoning for each variant better. Read more →
